Bicycling Magazine published an online review of the 2017 TCX Advanced Pro recently, calling the lightweight cyclocross machine “a carbon ’cross bike with all the right moves.”

Bicycling editor Ron Koch put the composite machine to the test as a cyclocross race bike and also as a gravel road bike. In the review, he details the features, technologies and design updates that give it such a standout ride quality, including its flat-mount disc brakes and 12mm thru-axles. Describing the bike’s performance, Koch wrote:

“One of my favorite things about the bike is how it corners. The TCX’s front end is very trustworthy; it always seems to go where it’s pointed. Over the spectrum of cornering situations ranging from flat to off-camber to rutted, the TXC is one of the most capable ’cross bikes I’ve ever ridden.”

Koch also highlighted the component spec on his TCX Advanced Pro 2 test bike:

"Giant even outfits the TCX with great cockpit components. Its house-branded Contact handlebar has a nice bend and the bar tape is tacky even when wet and confortable to bare gloveless hands. Giant’s Contact SL saddle even offers great support with a nice shape. The TCX Advanced Pro 2 isn’t great just because it’s a good value—it’s a great bike, period."
